Antique Pewter Silver & Bronze Fireside Companion Set with Twisted Loop Handles – 4 Fireplace Tools & Stand 71x20x20cm

Bring distinctive hand-turned metalwork and practical fireside storage to your hearth with our Antique Pewter Silver & Bronze Fireside Companion Set with Twisted Loop Handles. Measuring H71 × W20 × D20cm, this tall freestanding nickel companion set combines four essential fireplace tools with an ornate central stand, creating an eye-catching accessory for positioning beside a fireplace, wood burner or hearth.

The set includes a poker, tongs, brush and shovel for tending the fire and tidying the hearth afterwards. Decorative loop handles and twisted sections through the metalwork give each tool its distinctive character, while a large loop-shaped finial completes the stand. An antique pewter effect with silver and bronze tones creates a softly aged metallic appearance rather than the look of bright polished silver.

Antique Pewter Silver & Bronze Fireplace Tools

The antique pewter effect brings together silver and warmer bronze tones, with subtle variation across the nickel helping to highlight the shaped and twisted metalwork. This aged finish gives the set depth and character while remaining easy to coordinate with a variety of fireplace styles.

Its colouring works particularly well alongside stone, brick, cast iron and aged timber, while providing an attractive metallic contrast against lighter fireplace surrounds and more contemporary interiors.

Twisted Loop Handles & Hand-Turned Detailing

All four fireplace tools feature substantial loop-shaped handles complemented by decorative twists through sections of the shafts. The same design language continues to the top of the stand, where an oversized loop finial creates a strong focal point and gives the complete set a coordinated appearance.

At 71cm high, this is a noticeably tall companion set, allowing its decorative metalwork to remain clearly visible when positioned beside a fireplace or wood-burning stove.

Four Fireplace Tools & Freestanding Stand

The companion set contains four individual fireplace tools: a poker for tending and repositioning fuel, tongs for handling individual pieces of coal or wood, a brush for sweeping loose ash and debris and a shovel for collecting it. Each tool hangs from the upper section of the central stand, keeping the complete set organised together between uses.

A four-footed splayed base supports the tall central stem, while the circular upper section provides dedicated hanging positions for the tools. As the stand is completely freestanding, no wall mounting or separate tool storage is required.

What Are the Fireplace Tools Used For?

Use the poker to tend the fire and reposition burning fuel, while the tongs can be used for handling individual pieces of coal or wood. Once the fire and surrounding area have cooled, use the brush and shovel together to gather loose ash and small pieces of debris from around the hearth.

Keeping all four tools together on one stand means each has its own dedicated place and remains conveniently close to hand when required.

How Large Is This Fireside Companion Set?

The complete companion set measures H71 × W20 × D20cm and weighs 3.56kg. Its 71cm height gives it considerably more vertical presence than a compact fireplace tool set, making the decorative handles and metalwork a noticeable part of the hearth setting.

Despite its height, the overall footprint is approximately 20 × 20cm, helping to keep the amount of hearth or floor space required relatively contained.

Will This Companion Set Fit Beside My Fireplace?

Before ordering, measure the area where you intend to position the set and check the full H71 × W20 × D20cm dimensions against the available space. Please use the stated measurements rather than judging its size from photographs alone.

We also recommend allowing some additional clearance around the stand so the poker, tongs, brush and shovel can be comfortably lifted from and returned to their hanging positions during use.

Does the Companion Set Need Wall Mounting?

No. The fireplace tools are stored on their own freestanding central stand, so there is no need to drill into a wall or fireplace surround. Position the four-footed base on a suitable flat, stable surface beside your hearth, with appropriate clearance from the fire and sufficient room to access the tools comfortably.

What Does the Antique Pewter Finish Look Like?

This is not a bright, mirror-polished silver companion set. The nickel has an antique pewter effect combining silver and warmer bronze tones to create a darker, softly aged metallic appearance. Subtle tonal variation across the finish helps emphasise the loops, twists and shaped details within the metalwork.

Metallic finishes can appear slightly different according to lighting, surrounding colours and screen settings, so we recommend viewing all available product photographs when considering the colour and finish.

Traditional Metalwork for Classic & Contemporary Hearths

The tall proportions and decorative metalwork give this companion set a stronger visual presence than a simple straight-handled fireplace tool set. Its aged metallic colouring complements the natural textures often found around traditional fireplaces and wood burners, including stone, brick, cast iron and timber.

For more contemporary settings, the slender form and sculptural detailing can provide contrast against pale stone, neutral walls and cleaner fireplace surrounds without relying on a bright polished finish.

A Distinctive Finishing Touch for the Hearth

Combining four useful fireplace tools with one decorative storage stand, this companion set provides a practical way to keep your fireside essentials organised while adding character beside the hearth. Its tall 71cm profile, twisted loop handles and antique pewter silver and bronze colouring make it particularly suited to interiors where fireplace accessories are intended to remain part of the room rather than be stored out of sight.
