Large Antique Silver 3 Panel Folding Firescreen with Ornate Scrollwork – Steel Fireplace Fire Guard 75x85x2cm

Bring ornate metalwork and softly aged silver character to your hearth with our Large Antique Silver 3 Panel Folding Firescreen with Ornate Scrollwork. Measuring H75 × W85 × D2cm and handcrafted from steel, this substantial fireplace screen combines fine metal mesh with sweeping symmetrical scrollwork and an antique silver finish, creating a decorative fireside feature suited to both traditional and contemporary interiors.

A broad central section is flanked by two narrower hinged side panels that can be angled around the hearth when positioned. Intricate scrolling metalwork extends across all three panels, while the softly aged silver finish highlights the curves and detailing of the design and coordinates beautifully with silver, pewter, antique brass and other fireside finishes.

3 Panel Hinged Firescreen

The firescreen comprises one large central section and two narrower hinged side panels. The articulated three-panel construction allows the side sections to be angled when positioning the screen in front of the hearth, creating its distinctive fireside shape while allowing all three sections to remain visually connected.

The hinges are integrated between the central and side panels, retaining the symmetry of the design while giving you flexibility when positioning the firescreen. As fireplaces and hearths vary considerably, the panels should be arranged appropriately for your individual setting.

Antique Silver Finish with Ornate Scrollwork

Sweeping steel scrollwork is the defining feature of this firescreen. Large symmetrical curves frame the upper section, while further scrolling details extend across the central panel and continue onto both narrower side sections, creating decorative interest from one side of the screen to the other.

The antique silver finish gives the metalwork a softly aged appearance rather than the highly polished look associated with chrome. This brings out the contours of the scrollwork while making the firescreen particularly easy to coordinate with stone, brick, tiled and painted fireplace surrounds.

Fine Metal Mesh Across All Three Panels

Fine metal mesh extends across the central and side panels, allowing the fireplace and glow of the fire to remain visible through the screen. The mesh sits within a structured steel frame and provides a restrained backdrop for the more decorative scrolling metalwork positioned across its surface.

The combination of fine mesh and open scrollwork prevents the substantial 85cm-wide design from appearing overly heavy, while the consistent antique silver finish brings the different elements together.

Handcrafted Steel Construction

Handcrafted from steel and weighing approximately 5.30kg, this is a substantial firescreen designed to create a noticeable presence at the hearth. The steel construction is shaped into a combination of straight structural framing, fine mesh and decorative curved metalwork, giving the piece both practical structure and its distinctive ornamental character.

At 75cm high, the scrolling detail continues above the main mesh panels, drawing attention to the upper edge of the firescreen and giving it a more decorative appearance than a simple rectangular fire guard.

Large 85cm Wide Fireplace Screen

Measuring H75 × W85 × D2cm, this is a generously proportioned firescreen, so checking the available space around your fireplace before ordering is important. The manufacturer's 2cm depth measurement relates to the product itself and should not be treated as the amount of floor space required when the hinged side panels are angled for positioning.

Fireplaces and hearths vary considerably in size and configuration. Measure the intended position carefully and remember to allow suitable space for the angled side panels as well as any companion set, coal bucket, log storage or other fireside accessories you intend to position nearby.

Will This Firescreen Fit My Fireplace?

Before ordering, compare the H75 × W85cm overall height and width with the space available in front of your fireplace. As this is a three-panel design with hinged side sections, also allow sufficient hearth space for the side panels to be angled when the firescreen is positioned.

The supplied 2cm depth should not be used as the positioned footprint of the firescreen because the amount of space it occupies will vary according to the angle of the hinged side panels. If your hearth is shared with log storage, a companion set, coal bucket or other accessories, include these when checking your available space.

Style Your Fireside

The antique silver finish makes this firescreen particularly versatile when building a mixed-metal fireside scheme. Coordinate it with silver or pewter companion sets, hearth tidy sets and coal buckets for a tonal look, or introduce antique brass, black and darker metallic accessories for contrast.

Its ornate scrollwork works naturally with traditional fireplaces and period-inspired interiors, while the single-colour silver finish can also provide a decorative focal point against simpler contemporary surrounds. Pair with natural stone, warm wood, neutral textiles and softly layered lighting to create an inviting fireside setting.

Using Your Firescreen

Position the firescreen appropriately in front of your fireplace, angling the hinged side panels so the screen stands steadily on the hearth. Fireplaces vary in dimensions, configuration and operating requirements, so always use fireside accessories appropriately for your individual fireplace and follow any guidance supplied with the product and your fireplace.
