Large Antique Gold Overmantel Mirror with Arched Top & Ornate Scrollwork – Bevelled Glass Gold Leaf Effect Mantle Mirror 94x118x6cm

Bring traditional character, warm antique gold tones and beautifully detailed ornamentation into your home with our Large Antique Gold Overmantel Mirror with Arched Top & Ornate Scrollwork. Measuring H94 × W118 × D6cm, this substantial fireplace mirror features a gently curved arched top, decorative scrollwork with leaf detailing at both lower corners, a gold leaf effect frame and elegant bevelled glass.

Designed to make a statement above a fireplace or mantelpiece, this large gold mirror combines the charm of traditional overmantel styling with a softly aged finish. Its generous proportions and decorative frame create a beautiful focal point in living rooms, dining rooms and hallways, whether paired with period features or more contemporary furniture.

Traditional Antique Gold Finish with Ornate Scrollwork

The frame features a warm antique gold finish with subtle variations in tone, creating the appearance of aged gilding. Raised mouldings follow the rounded arch and continue down both sides, while decorative curled scrolls and flowing leaf details sit at the lower corners.

These distinctive embellishments give the mirror its traditional character, with deeper shading around the mouldings helping to highlight the intricate detailing. The straight lower edge completes the classic overmantel shape, making it particularly attractive above a fireplace.

Bevelled Glass with a Classic Arched Design

The mirror features bevelled glass, with a gently angled edge that adds depth and a decorative finishing detail to the reflective surface. Combined with the broad arched frame, it creates an attractive balance between traditional ornamentation and practical everyday use.

Position the mirror opposite a window or near a natural light source to reflect daylight around your room and create a greater sense of space. Its generous 118cm width also makes it ideal for visually balancing a substantial fireplace, mantelpiece or chimney breast.

Where to Style Your Large Gold Overmantel Mirror

Although traditionally designed for display above a fireplace, this ornate gold mirror can bring warmth and character to several areas of your home.

• Above a fireplace: Create a traditional focal point by centring the mirror above your mantelpiece, allowing its decorative lower corners to frame the fireplace below.
• Living rooms: Pair with warm neutrals, natural wood, soft furnishings and decorative accessories for an inviting interior.
• Dining rooms: Position above a sideboard to reflect natural light and complement decorative arrangements.
• Hallways: Style above a console table to create a welcoming first impression.
• Traditional and contemporary interiors: Complement period fireplaces and classic furniture, or introduce decorative contrast alongside simpler modern pieces.

Before purchasing, measure your available wall space and the furniture or fireplace beneath the mirror. At 118cm wide, this is a generously proportioned design, so allowing suitable clearance on either side will help achieve a balanced appearance.

Dimensions and Materials

Measuring H94 × W118 × D6cm, this large antique gold mirror features a substantial decorative frame measuring 13.6cm wide. Its gently curved top softens the overall design, while the straight lower edge complements traditional overmantel styling.

Crafted from glass and PU (polyurethane), the mirror combines bevelled reflective glass with a moulded ornamental frame finished in a traditional gold leaf effect. The warm gold colouring features subtle tonal variation, with the raised details catching the light and deeper shading defining the decorative scrollwork.

Hanging and Installation

Weighing approximately 10kg, this mirror is designed for secure wall mounting using its D-ring fixing points. It is intended to be hung in one orientation only, with the arched top uppermost and the straight edge at the bottom, as shown in our product photographs.

We recommend two people for safe handling and installation. Please use wall fixings appropriate for your wall construction and the mirror's weight, and consult a qualified professional if you are unsure. When positioning above a working fireplace, allow suitable clearance from heat.

Care and Cleaning

Gently dust the decorative gold frame with a soft, dry cloth or clean, soft brush, paying particular attention to the scrollwork and moulded details. Clean the bevelled mirror glass using a suitable glass cleaner applied to a soft, lint-free cloth rather than spraying directly onto the surface.

Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals and excessive moisture, which may damage the decorative finish. This mirror is intended for indoor use.
