Antique Pewter & Black Firescreen with Top Handle & Gothic Arch Design – Metal Mesh Fireplace Fire Guard 65x55x21cm

Bring distinctive architectural metalwork and antique pewter character to your hearth with our Antique Pewter & Black Firescreen with Top Handle & Gothic Arch Design. Measuring H65 × W55 × D21cm, this handcrafted metal fireplace fire guard combines fine dark mesh with a striking framework of repeated Gothic arches, creating a practical fireside accessory with a strong decorative presence.

Unlike a flat firescreen, its structured design extends around the sides and across the top, creating an enclosed three-dimensional form. Fine metal mesh covers the front, curved side sections and top, while the antique pewter-toned framework contrasts against the darker mesh and emphasises the architectural detailing. A prominent arched handle completes the upper section of the design.

Distinctive Gothic Arch Design

Inspired by the peaked arches associated with Gothic architecture, the decorative framework is the defining feature of this firescreen. A row of tall, slender arches extends across the front, creating strong vertical lines before meeting in characteristic pointed peaks.

The architectural detailing continues around the curved sides, giving the firescreen decorative interest from different viewing angles rather than only from directly in front. Textured detailing along the metal framework adds further character, while the antique pewter finish picks out the contours of the arches against the dark mesh behind them.

Antique Pewter & Black Finish

The combination of antique pewter-toned metalwork and dark mesh gives this firescreen a layered metallic appearance. Rather than the bright reflective surface associated with polished chrome, the pewter finish has a softly aged character, with lighter silver-grey highlights bringing definition to the decorative framework.

The darker mesh provides contrast behind the metalwork and makes the firescreen easy to coordinate with black, pewter, silver and other traditional fireside accessories. It can sit naturally alongside stone, brick, tiled and painted fireplace surrounds, working particularly well in interiors where architectural detail and darker metallic finishes are already present.

Fine Metal Mesh Across the Front Sides & Top

Fine metal mesh extends across the front and continues around the curved sides and over the top, creating more extensive coverage than a simple flat fireplace screen while allowing the fire and its glow to remain visible through the mesh.

The firescreen is designed to provide spark protection to the front, sides and top. Its mesh construction is supported by the surrounding decorative metal framework, combining the practical function of a fireplace fire guard with the character of its architectural design.

Curved Enclosed Design with Top Handle

At approximately 21cm deep, this firescreen has a genuine three-dimensional form. The sides curve backwards from the front rather than forming separate folding panels, while the mesh-covered upper section completes its distinctive enclosed shape.

A prominent arched handle is incorporated into the top of the firescreen. Its simple curved profile complements the architectural lines below without distracting from the more detailed metalwork across the front and sides.

Handcrafted Metal Construction

Handcrafted from metal and weighing approximately 5.01kg, this is a substantial firescreen designed to combine practical hearth coverage with decorative detailing. Its construction brings together fine mesh, curved side sections, an enclosed upper section and repeated architectural arches in one distinctive fireside piece.

At 65cm high and 55cm wide, the design has a more compact frontage than some larger firescreens, while its 21cm depth accommodates the curved, enclosed form. Checking all three dimensions against your fireplace and hearth before ordering will help you establish whether it is suitable for your intended position.

Compact 55cm Wide Fireplace Fire Guard

Measuring H65 × W55 × D21cm, this firescreen provides useful height and depth without the much wider footprint associated with a large three-panel fire guard. Its narrower 55cm width may make it a useful option where hearth space is more limited, although fireplace openings and hearths vary considerably and should always be measured individually.

When checking the available space, allow for the full 21cm depth as well as the 55cm width and 65cm height. Remember to consider any companion set, coal bucket, log storage, hearth tidy set or other fireside accessories that will share the surrounding area.

Will This Firescreen Fit My Fireplace?

Before ordering, compare the H65 × W55 × D21cm overall dimensions with your fireplace opening, hearth and the space available immediately in front of it. The 21cm depth is particularly important because this firescreen has curved side sections and an enclosed top rather than being a flat screen.

Fireplaces vary considerably in size and configuration, so measure the intended position carefully. If your hearth is also used for a companion set, coal bucket, log storage or other accessories, include these when calculating the available space.

Style Your Fireside

The combination of antique pewter-toned metalwork and dark mesh gives this firescreen plenty of styling versatility. Pair it with antique pewter or silver companion sets, hearth tidy sets and coal buckets for a coordinated metallic scheme, or introduce black fireside accessories to complement the darker mesh and create stronger contrast.

The architectural detailing works particularly naturally with period-inspired interiors, traditional fireplaces and character features, while the restrained metallic palette can also add decorative interest to simpler contemporary surrounds. Natural stone, aged timber, warm neutral textiles and softly layered indoor lighting all complement its darker fireside finish.

Using Your Firescreen

Position the firescreen appropriately on the hearth in front of your fireplace, ensuring it stands securely and has sufficient space for its full 21cm depth. The mesh design provides spark protection to the front, sides and top. As fireplaces differ in their dimensions, configuration and operating requirements, always use fireside accessories appropriately for your individual fireplace and follow any guidance supplied with the product and your fireplace.
