Black Metal Matchstick Holder with 60 Long Matches & Built-In Striker – Decorative Fireside Match Holder 24x7x7cm

Keep long fireplace matches neatly stored and ready to use beside the hearth with our Black Metal Matchstick Holder with 60 Long Matches & Built-In Striker. Measuring H24 × W7 × D7cm, this tall cylindrical fireside match holder combines practical match storage with a timeless matt black finish and distinctive shaped upper section, creating a slim fireside accessory designed to sit alongside fireplaces, wood-burning stoves and other fireside essentials.

Handcrafted from steel, the holder is supplied with 60 long wooden matches, keeping a useful supply together in one dedicated container rather than loose in a drawer or cupboard. A built-in striker is positioned on the front of the holder for convenient match lighting, while the slender metal carry handle allows the container to be picked up and repositioned when required.

Black Match Holder with 60 Long Matches

The match holder comes complete with 60 long wooden matches, so it arrives ready to become part of your fireside setup. The long wooden matches are particularly well suited to fireside use, providing useful additional reach when lighting a fire.

The matches are stored upright inside the cylindrical holder, making them easy to see and select when needed. At 24cm high with a compact 7 × 7cm footprint, the holder keeps its 60 supplied matches neatly contained without requiring much space beside the hearth. The natural wooden matchsticks and dark match heads also create a distinctive contrast against the matt black metalwork when the holder is on display.

Built-In Match Striker

A dedicated striker is incorporated into the front of the black metal holder, keeping the matches and striking surface conveniently together in one place. Its contrasting warm-toned striking surface is easy to identify against the matt black body while adding another practical detail to the cylindrical design.

For best results, keep the striker clean and dry and use only suitable matches designed to ignite from a striking surface. Replacement-match compatibility can vary, so always check that any replacement matches are suitable for use with this type of striker before use.

Handcrafted Matt Black Metalwork

Made from steel, the cylindrical holder has a matt black finish that gives this colourway a clean, understated appearance. The dark metalwork works naturally alongside black companion sets, firescreens, log holders and other fireplace accessories, while its simple finish makes it equally suited to traditional fireplaces, wood-burning stoves and more contemporary hearth settings.

Rather than finishing with a completely level upper edge, the metalwork rises into a distinctive curved, sloping section around the matches, adding character to the otherwise simple cylindrical form while leaving the long matches easy to access. Visible riveted details around the upper and lower bands reflect its handcrafted construction, while the slim hinged metal handle is attached at either side of the cylindrical body and can be raised when the holder needs to be moved.

Compact Fireside Match Storage

Measuring H24 × W7 × D7cm, this is a particularly space-efficient way to keep fireplace matches organised. Its narrow 7 × 7cm footprint takes up very little hearth or fireside space, making it suitable for positioning alongside companion sets, hearth tidies, coal buckets and log holders without creating unnecessary clutter.

When not being used, the contrast between the matt black steel, natural wooden matches and dark match heads gives the holder a decorative quality of its own, allowing it to remain on display as part of your fireside arrangement rather than needing to be stored out of sight.

How to Use Your Fireside Match Holder

Select one of the long matches from the top of the holder and use the built-in striker to ignite it. Once lit, use the match carefully for its intended purpose and extinguish it fully after use. Never return a used, hot, smouldering or partially extinguished match to the holder.

Matches and naked flames require careful handling. Always keep this product, the supplied matches and any replacement matches out of the reach of children and babies. Position the holder securely away from open flames, hot surfaces, sparks and excessive heat, and never leave a burning match unattended.

Care & Maintenance

To care for the matt black finish, remove surface dust with a soft, dry cloth and avoid abrasive pads or harsh chemical cleaners that may mark or affect the surface. Keep the holder, striker and matches dry and store them away from damp conditions or direct sources of heat.

As this product is handcrafted, subtle variations in the metalwork, finish and construction details may form part of its individual character.
